Gutter Twins map summer 'Saturnalia' trek

Indie-rock duo The Gutter Twins [ tickets ] have lined up a slate of North American headlining dates this summer behind their debut album, "Saturnalia."The pair--Mark Lanegan (formerly of Screaming Trees) and Greg Dulli (co-founder of The Afghan Whigs)--will kick off the run June 28 in Calgary, Alberta, the first of 11 cities the outfit will hit during the trek, which runs through an Aug. 2 slot at Chicago's Lollapalooza. Details are below.Following the US stretch, the duo heads across the ocean for a lengthy European outing. The full overseas schedule is posted at the Twins' MySpacepage.Dulli and Lanegan are touring behind their debut for Sub Pop, "Saturnalia," which hit stores in March. Both performers released albums for the label in the '90s with their former acts.The pair has worked on several projects together in the past, primarily involving Lanegan's guest appearances--in both the recording studio and on tour--with Dulli's current main project, The Twilight Singers.Since the breakup of Screaming Trees, Lanegan has released several solo albums, including his recent collaboration with Isobel Campbell ("Ballad of the Broken Seas," which was shortlisted for the British Mercury Prize in 2006), along with his vocal work for Queens of the Stone Age and Soulsavers.Dulli and the other members of The Afghan Whigs briefly reunited in 2006 to record a pair of new tracks ("I'm A Soldier" and "Magazine") for a Rhino best-of album, "Unbreakable (A Retrospective," which surfaced last June.
